A group of international experts in plant genomics act as the UK Advisory Board to supply an independent assessment of the progress of the project and give advice on the strategic direction. The board meet with the consortium on an annual basis.
- Jane Rogers is Deputy Executive Director of the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium and former Director of The Genome Analysis Centre.
- Keith Edwards is Professor of Cereal Functional Genomics, University of Bristol.
- Klaus Mayer heads the MIPS plant genomics group, MIPS, Germany.
